We used the Orchestra Lapbook made by Karen at Wisdom and Righteousness last year in our CC group. I am delighted that Karen has created another orchestra lapbook for Cycle 1 and that she has improved on last year’s lapbook too!
This week by week curriculum guide is so detailed, allowing you to go much deeper in your teaching about the composers and orchestra (if you wish). I love how I now have a great collection of orchestra and composer resources all in one place. The Cycle 1 Orchestra Lapbook is open and go. All the information to impart to your students is written in red so you can easily find it. Each week there is a lesson and a corresponding lapbook piece. The lapbook can be done in class, led by a tutor, or at home if you are doing CC at home (or if your tutor isn’t using it in class). There is a “Digging Deeper” part with links to extra worksheets, music, games and crafts that are all related to Cycle 1 composers or orchestra in general. This is the part I plan to do at home, since I already know my CC Community will be using the lapbook again this year. My favorite changes and additions to this Cycle’s lapbook are the composer timeline and the composer notes. The composer timeline is so neat! You can find more information HERE.
Now for the great news. I have two copies of the lapbook to giveaway! Leave a comment telling me your favorite part of Classical Conversations for an entry to win one of the two copies. Giveaway ends Monday January 21st. Please leave your email in the comment so I can contact the winner.
