I have been trying to celebrate Saint’s feast days and October 7th was the feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary. I saw lots of yummy looking cupcake rosaries on various blogs, but there was no way I was going to bake that many cupcakes! I scrounged in the cupboards and discovered the (dye-free) candy coated chocolate drops (from Kroger) and some jelly beans and was able to set up a fancy display on the kitchen table to surprise the kids at breakfast. I couldn’t find a cross – though we have one somewhere – so I cut a cross out of the zucchini bread we had made the previous day. It was all about making do. The kids were excited to find the display and enjoyed eating the rosary throughout the day.
I mentioned how I recently misplaced about ten pages of our All About Reading Student Book. Well, I also managed to misplace our Rosary coloring book, but luckily our coloring book of saints had a picture of Mary to color. We were able to pray the entire rosary while they happily colored.
