We finally have enough Christmas books to do a book a day for Advent this year! We’ve been collecting at consignment sales and Goodwill for three years now. I am beyond excited and so are the kids. They are going to help wrap most of them, but I have a handful that I will wrap as they are recent purchases that the children haven’t seen yet. Yay for surprises! Here is our list:
.Merry Christmas, Strega Nona
.Angel Pig and the Hidden Christmas
.One Special Tree
.Merry Christmas, Curious George!
.Saint Nicholas: The Real Story of the Christmas Legend
.Gingerbread Baby We’ll be making gingerbread the day we read this.
.The Tale of Three Trees: A Traditional Folktale
.A Pinata in a Pine Tree: A Latino Twelve Days of Christmas
.How the Grinch Stole Christmas
.Strega Nona’s Gift
.Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree
.The Donkey’s Dream
.Home for Christmas
.The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
.Winter Days in the Big Woods
.Christmas in the Big Woods
.The Christmas Star
.Country Angel Christmas
.The Friendly Beasts
.The Crippled Lamb
.Remember the Manger
.God Gave Us Christmas
.The Christmas Angel by Hans Wilhelm
.‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, the Tiger Tale version with sparkling snow in the illustrations.
Some other books we own that I will leave out all month are Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells by Tiger Tales and a few French Christmas books, like Le Noel de Petunia (It’s title in English is Pippin the Christmas Pig). Of course, we will also be signing out other Christmas books from the library, because my kids just can’t get enough of books!
