We’re a little behind in school in a way. The wonderful thing about homeschooling is that when the opportunity comes to go to an art museum, or to the swimming pool, on a school day, you just go. So we haven’t done all that I’d planned.
Reading – Bear is reading up a storm of Easy Readers and feeling quite proud of it. “I can read this, Mommy,” she likes to say to me all the time. No Mommy planned activities here. I teach her advanced code (like oa, oo, ai, etc) as she meets it in books. She’s still playing Reading Eggs, but hasn’t actually had time to this week at all!
History – We read Mummies in the Morning and did various Egypt related activities to be posted about in their own post when we are done. She has been listening to the Magic Tree House books in the car every day.

I posted here about the unit on matter we did. We finished up the cumulative experiments early this week. The “inflating a balloon” experiment was so impressive Bear kept asking me to do it again until I ran out of baking soda.
Her science journal page.
This is the “see a gas form” experiment. It didn’t hold her interest as much as the flashlight did!
Art – We went to the art museum in the city and had a blast making art at their Toddler Thursday program. J-jo even kind of participated in his own way.
Music – Trying to remember to practice the violin is hard. We have to wait until Daddy is home to play with J-jo to practice and sometimes Bear is too tired by then. This week we haven’t missed any days of practice though and Bear is improving very fast.
: If your child lacks interest or motivation, find a you tube video of a child who is doing what you want yours to do and show your child said video. I have found Montessori videos to inspire Bear to do certain works, and I have my go-to 3 year old violinist video
too! Works like a charm. And Joyful Learner’s
JC has inspired my daughter to draw more and to make her own bed!
